Ludlow is home to so many fascinating historic buildings such as Ludlow Castle which is situated on a cliff above the River Teme.
The castle dates back to the Norman conquest and is one of the first stone castles built in England, making it a fascinating explore for anyone interested in history. Meanwhile, the town itself boasts approximately 500 listed buildings with one of the best known being the Feathers Hotel. Dating back to 1619, you can take afternoon tea, dine and stay in this beautiful building.
Ludlow has been home to a few Michelin stared restaurants over the years and still has a myriad of stunning eateries and is home to the famous Ludlow Food Festival which is held in the aforementioned Ludlow Caste grounds and well worth a visit.
As is the Ludlow Kitchen & Food Hall on the outskirts of the town which offers a cornucopia of local produce either created on site or within a few miles of the Oakley Park Estate, home to the Earl of Plymouth who runs this fabulous establishment.
The town is situated on the edge of the Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is the perfect base for exploring all the area has to offer.
From here it is only a short journey to Clee Hill, The Long Mynd (AONB), Stretton Hills & Wenlock Edge. Not for the faint-hearted but the trek is worth it as the views are indescribable!
